DESCRIPTION
Cornerstone Christian School is a Christian educational institution raised up by God for the main purpose of training and preparing students to succeed in life from a Biblical point of view. This training can be best realized when the students come from Christian homes where the Word of God is honored and obeyed.The aim and goals of Cornerstone Christian School can be directly and indirectly traced to the principles found in the Word of God. The Bible, therefore, is the sole authority upon which the school builds its educational programs and practices. Being a Christian educational institution, Cornerstone Christian School is dependent upon the Biblical philosophy, which provides the foundation, principles, and certain viewpoints for interpreting the facts encountered in the study of various disciplines.PURPOSE
The purpose of Cornerstone Christian School is to assist parents in fulfilling their God ordained mandate to "Train up a child..." (Prov. 22:6). We seek to train the whole student (spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically) by providing a Christ-centered educational experience. The Word of God is integrated into the total educational program and is taught so that the student will develop a sound value and ethical system in every stage of life. We are "distinctly different by design". It is not the purpose of Cornerstone Christian School to be a substitute for the home, but to supplement it.MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to develop functional citizens who will follow Jesus Christ and make an impact for Him, both in the local community and the world abroad. Good productive citizens who respect and honor God, their country, and their families are wonderful byproducts of having a right relationship with God through a mature understanding of His Word. Solomon summarizes our Christian lives this way: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole manner: fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)PHILOSOPHY
Cornerstone Christian School's philosophy of Christian Education is the belief that God's Word is foundational for all true knowledge. Since the worlds were framed by the "Word of God" (John 1:1), all creation should seek to glorify Him. However, the depraved nature of man indicates that he will not naturally seek to do the will of God. Man's sin nature, in a very real sense, directs him to do that which is diametrically opposed to God's way. Christian education, therefore, must seek to guide students to the truth that is in Christ. The core of all subjects, taught at Cornerstone Christian School, must be integrated with the truths found in the Word of God. Teaching the character and nature of God, and trying to emulate those traits is the primary goal of Cornerstone Christian School. | |
